on mjh today they brougt up that crede is in need of a nickname, thought it would be fun to take a stab at it. He doesn't have any real distinctive features or traits so i'm gonna just make some crap up.

Since he started his hitting streak, I've started calling him Joe "Dimaggio" Crede to my cub fan friends.

And when he was bad we used to make fun of him by calling him the In-cred-ible Joe Crede.

Forget that, we need Crede's crew to come back.

There is a good friend of mine, Dean Webb, who is a huge White Sox fan that went to high school with Crede's Crew. Unfortunately, they went to different colleges and aren't able to get to the games at the same time as much. I'll pass the word to Dean that Crede's Crew needs to come back ASAP and maybe they'll make an appearance soon.

Seriously, though, I loved seeing Crede's crew out there. My favorite suggestion from the radio show was "The Carpenter" - you know JC was a Carpenter and they have the same initials.

Then my favorite was when they were talking about a new nickname for Ryno and someone called and asked "is there an animal out there who's mate believes in polygamy? You could name Ryno after that one!"

I'm just proud that my 'crediocre' from last year is still making the rounds...

In spring training and the start of this season, I was also calling him 'Joe-fer', in reference to his daily stats (seemed like he was almost always 0-for-something)... But lately I haven't been able to use that one - thanks, Joe!

But here's some more neutral - i.e. non performance-based ideas:
JJ, for Just Joe
The Chainsaw (Illini b-ball fans will get the reference)
Vanilla, to describe his dynamic personality

We call Joe Borchard LTP for Light Tower Power... maybe we could call him "WTP" for Warning Track Power.

You do realize as soon as we give him some cool nickname (and subsequent USC chant), he will revert to stinking it up. Let's just call him "Our stop gap third base solution until Josh Fields is ready for the show" ...yea, I like that one.

If indeed the pony's name is Comet, I think it brings up another possiblity.
