Uh, right...

Except, y'know, the fact that if they'd WON, this loss (since that's what it's shaping up to be) would drop us into 2nd place.

Don't kid yourself. EVERY loss by the Twins is a victory for the Sox. Learn to relish them - they will be few and far between.

Nice to see the Twins lose one. Too bad we couldn't take advantage. Having sole possesion of 1st would've been awesome. But hey, I'll take the Twinkie loss anyday.

doesnt matter... the twins could lose 20 games straight, but if we also lose 20 games straight, where does that get us with the twinkies? NO WHERE, i rather have the sox and twins win on the same day, than have the sox and twins lose on the same day. the sox need to create their ticket to the playoffs by winning, not hope to scoot into the playoffs by the twins losing.

This thread just made me "dummer."

Yes...a Twins loss DOES mean something, even if we lose. Common sense, people.

For once I'm not so happy about a Twins loss. If Sabathia is back for good he may have just made this a three team race again. With seven strikeouts in 5 innings today, that's gotta be a boost for the Tribe.

Obviously, but to finish with a better record than another team, you still have to hope they lose, too.

This is basic mathematics, people.
