Watching the Braves Phils game on TBS and Chip Carey goes into some rant about how Pods and Alex Sanchez are overrated because, "While they steal 50 to 60 bases they still get thrown out 20 to 25 times."

Pods stats the last two years: 43 sb 53 attempts .811 success
70 sb 83 attempts .843 success

I'll take over 80 percent success when the defense KNOWS you are going.

It's thought by some that the "breakeven point" where it's to the advantage of a baserunner to steal a base is about 73%. Podsednik's percentage in 2004 clearly eclipsed that.

Wait a minute, Chip was right! Pods did get thrown out 23 times! Never mind that it took TWO YEARS to get to that total. What a tool.

I used to enjoy having baseball on TBS when the Chicago teams had off days and I could listen to SKIP Caray and enjoy some good baseball. Now I have to listen to Flubbie Buffoon CHIP Caray and end up muting the tv. Good game though, 2-1 Phillies. Wagner made it very interesting before Chase Utley had the web gem of the day to save the lead.

Yeah, sometimes I'd have TBS in the backround when the Sox weren't on while making dinner or something because Skip Caray and Don Sutton are pretty good baseball guys. Now with CHIP, can't turn the channel fast enough. He just likes to hear himself talk and is annoying as heck. Massive tool indeed.
