Tiffee was up for a short time at the latter part of last season, and looked good then. He went down with an injury of some sort and finished the season on the DL. There is every reason to believe that Tiffee may be a real deal.

Can he play anywhere else besides 1st? There will be no real spot for him when Morneau comes back if he can only play 1st (maybe DH). Although it is just more depth. And whats the deal with Kubel? Is he out for the year?

And whats the deal with Kubel? Is he out for the year?

I believe he had an ACL tear, and won't be back until September at the earliest.

He's a 3B and filled in for Koskie last year when he was on the DL.

He's actually a natural 3B, but can play 1B if needed.

Almost definitely. It's possible he will see some playing time in September (but probably in the minors/rehab).

Actually the Twins have another prospect, Garret Jones, for 1st base. Led their AAA team last year in homers and rbi. Has 3 homers so far this year. 24 years old. 6-4, 220. 14th round pick by Atlanta in 1999 out of high school. Took Morneau's place last year. Bats left-handed.

According to BA (http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/Stats/org_twins.shtml), Garret Jones did not play at AAA last year and is not among the twink's Top 10 prospects.

His 2004 AA stats: 450 AB, 68 R, 92 RBI, 30 HR, 28 BB, 98 K, 10 SB, .311 AVE, .356 OBP, .593 SLG.

Sorry. My bad. I typed one too many A's there. He was in AA last year, moved up to AAA this year and is doing well so far.

We are blessed to have one of the best farm systems in the league.
