View Full Version : More bad closings
Today both Benitez and Kolb came in to pitch ninth innings with leads. Each Benitez gave up 4 runs, and Kolb gave up 3.
I have always liked the idea of bullpen by committee, unless your closer is lights out, such as Eckersley. I preferred Gossage and Forster closing to just Gossage for that matter. But I doubt that anyone agrees with me.

Well, the Giants definitely took a risk by giving Benitez that much money. He's always done poorly in pressure situations. It's too bad because I got desperate for saves once the top tier of closers were drafted in fantasy leagues(Gagne, Lidge, Krod, Rivera) and drafted Benitez in a few leagues.

I feel bad for Hudson. 8 innings and only 1 ER is too good to be getting a no decision.

He must feel like he is back with the A's. In the last couple of years, I think he was up there with the most no decisions in baseball.

Jake Westbrook wholeheartedly agrees.
