He'll give up 2 or 3 early, settle in, then get lifted after 5 or 6 because of the pitch count. Since he's supposed to be a Messiah, I consider that owned.

If he gave up that many runs to a minor league team he will get rocked in this game. I can only hope.

I personally do not know any true White Sox fans that would say Prior would own the Padres today.

My prediction...he won't play today.

It's pouring here.

You would think he could make the rain stop so he can pitch today, being Jesus and all................

San Diego at this point can't own anybody. They swing at too much crap like the Brewers. If they play however they'll beat Prior in a low scoring game.

I highly doubt Prior wins today. I think he the Padres will tag him for 4 or 5 runs, plus he is going up against one of the top pitchers in the NL in Jake Peavy.

Pitchers who come back from injuries too soon often get
smacked around by the opposition. Are the sCrUBS even playing
today?? It's wet and "waining".Someone might get hurt.Maybe even
the sCrUBS. :roflmao: :roflmao:

Dempster and the bullpen owned the Padres Monday when neither team earned a run in nine innings. It might be one of those weeks in Wrigley where a pitcher would have to be quite bad to not be good.

Prior is going to get slapped around. He is moving from the DL to the majors with just one minor league start. Not even the Messiah could make that smooth of a transition

The game, and Prior's humiliating defeat, have been postpOWNED! Not the way I wanted to ring in my 1,500th post, but such is life.

I'll say he owns for about 5 innings, gives up 2 hits (both to Khalil Greene), no runs, strikes out 7, and leaves with the game tied 0-0, only to have the Cubs bullpen gives up about 8 runs.

I would say owned, but he is facing the same Padres who could only score 1 unearned run off Ryan Dempster?
