I saw the XM logo on the left field wall earlier this week, and I like the new XM Baseball Rivalry commercial, but at the end the White Sox fan's rival is a Dray fan? :?:

The ad on the left field wall for starters and I suspect you will see an XM store set up on the 100 level shortly.

XM had a deal to provide all MLB games before this deal was signed (and I was listening to them before the deal) It doesn't seem like any sox only content has been added to Chan 180, perhaps something in the future.

thats exactly what I'm saying to. What exactly will this mean as far as XM programming is concerned? Anything? Or are we just gonna get paid to advertise for them??

I suspect they paid JR a nice sum for the sign in LF

I just noticed this as well, watching the commercial for the millionth time I realized they showed a sox fan for like a second sitting on some chairs with a devil Rays fan.... of all the teams to pick from (Twins/Cubs/Tigers/Indians) they picked the d-rays. Yikes.

Hey, I live in Tampa. D-Ray fans are good people. Just gotta wake them up in 8th inning.

The phrase "exclusive deal" with XM made me think we were getting some special programming so I emailed Bob Grim, Sr. Director, Broadcasting & Business Development, with this question. He replied:

"The XM satellite radio deal was actually a deal struck by MLB for all clubs. The deal calls for each clubs home broadcast to be made available to every XM subscriber throughout the season. The deal does not relate to enhanced White Sox programming. You will only be able to receive our game broadcasts."

So nothing special White Sox wise but it still induced me to get satellite radio. The idea of getting broadcasts of every MLB game, a channel devoted 24/7 to baseball, commercial free music of every conceivable genre was too much to resist! Let me tell you, the digital audio also sounds sweet!

I checked with a friend at XM in DC who is the producer for MLB on XM ( was formerly the head of Red Sox radio at WEEI.) XM will indeed have a booth at USCF to sell radios and are paying for the ad in LF. That is the deal.

The Devil Rays?I thought that the Marlins were the D-Rays rivals.

But a Sox fan/Cub fan image would have been a lot better!!!
