Self-analysis: Wood did his job
Struggles with control, but velocity is there

Kerry Wood was satisfied with his first start of the season Friday, though only half of his pitches were strikes.

"I don't know what my balls-to-strikes ratio was," Wood said after the 6-3 extra-inning loss to Milwaukee. "It couldn't have been very good.

Oh those hardball cubs

I only saw a few seconds of Johnny Baker's press conference after the game. Did any of those brown nosers ask him about his (Wood's) ball to strikes ratio, or was it just about the bullpen ? If they did, he probably would have answered "Uhh..hey man, I don't know 'bout that stuff. You guys are the ones who keep bringing it up. Come on dude...What are you asking me that for ?" Did he use Darrin as a human shield again too ?
