What are you thoughts on how to sweep the Indians today? What are going to be the keys to game, so to speak? (Obviously, to score more runs than the Indians.)

More than likely today, it is going to rest on the performance of Contreras, like has been stated on these boards already. However, I'm looking to see the White Sox break out offensively today. I would like to see them score a solid 6 or 7 runs and give Contreras the lead he needs to take some pressure off.

Cliff Lee started off hot last year, but then faded as the season progressed. He is 2-2 against our Sox in his career with a 6.47 ERA, with the Sox hitting .285 against him. Different ballclub shape, but hopefully the Sox can continue their relative success against Lee in a breakout game offensively.

The Sox offense has been in a funk going back through the last week or so of ST. Yesterday's win is just the kind of thing that can get a team some momentum, and a sweep would be a great momentum-builder to carry into the Twinkiedome this weekend. We've had superb pitching the last two days, but I don't think Contreras has to be great today. He just has to not blow up.

IMO, today is all about Contreras. If he has a quality start, I think the Sox will win.

I'd rather the team start 5-1 than 6-0. Losing to the Twins is not an option, so I'll take a loss today, if that happens.

Last year Cliff Lee was a hot topic in b-ball after going something like 7-0. Then he faced the White Sox. The big boppers crushed Mr. Lee and his straight fast ball. Losing Carlos and Maggs means maybe we're less of a pure fastball hitting team. However Konerko, (maybe the best fastball hitter in the league) remains. I don't know, you look up and down the line-up and it is still VERY impressive. I love our chances today in a slug fest. I'm not sold on Contreras but I hope I'm wrong. Sox go 3-0 by days end.

Ugly slugfest. Sox win 14-12. Smallball-Longball debate rages on into Friday morning...

Hopefully Jose's Forkball is effective as it is quite Windy today, the better win so i can watch a White Sox winner on the replay tonight at 7.

That would mean a loss today and a sweep of the twins this weekend

This is going to be a game won by the bullpen. I like our chances in winning 8-5.

It's hard to sweep - but man would that be a great way to start the season. Win or lose, I'd like to see a little O before facing the Twins. That might help the pictchers nerves a bit.

We always play the Twins tough early on. I wouldn't be surprised if we took two out of three. It's a matter of beating them in September that's been the problem. Of course, we gotta get up every time we face them, but still. The last two years we started out 9-5 or around there against them, but they ended up winning the season series both times.

That's stupid. You try to win with every chance you get. No exceptions.

I completely agree. You play to win every game. Losing is unacceptable.
