I know I'm a day late on this but I spoke to my buddy who went to the sox opening day game yesterday. He said their were people wearing Cubs outfits and were running their mouths. Of course the sox fans didn't tolerate it and the Cub fans were beaten up and escorted out of the ballpark by security. Supposely all of this happened in the bleachers.

A lot of firewater was flowing Monday, and it had me really concerned. Among other things, I saw people (Sox fans included, unfortunately) emptying their bladders in the corners of the rampways and in bushes in the parking lots. It was a scene of public drunkenness that I haven't seen for a while. Hey, I have nothing against drinking beer at a ballgame. I occasionally do it when I'm not driving. However, why is it that so many people have to get themselves annihilated and act like a bunch of [bleep]heads? I saw guys with running stacked cup collection five-deep by the first inning! Where the hell do they think this is? The Shrine?

To my amazement I didnt see that many cub fans at the game. I was in the field box section just to the left of the foul pole and it was all Sox fans. I saw more cub fans at the Brewers/Sox game on Saturday (don't get me started on that).

To reply to the comment about people relieving their bladders in bushes of parking lots, Im glad to say I was guilty of that. Thats only because the White Sox encourage tailgating, and when they choose to only put two porta-pottys per parking lot on opening day, the wait was huge. My girlfiend waited 20 minutes in line to use the bathroom, thats not right. I dont care if you are drinking pop or beer, if you gotta go, you shouldnt have to wait 20 minutes.

Right on. I was at the game in Milwaukee on Saturday and they had porta-johns galore in the parking lot. I never had to wait once. Granted, the crowd was much smaller that opening day but 2 porta-johns is obnoxious.

For all the improvements the Sox have made over the years, they still have trouble dealing with sellout crowds. There is just no room to relieve ones self there unless you can control when you have to go, and don't we all wish we could do that? They USED to have porta-potties IN the stadium; maybe they should look into that again for the opener, Cub games, and other Prime or premium games on the schedule (Red Sox, Dodgers, Yanks, Twins?) And I walked thru 2 or 3 parking lots to get there monday and saw TWO porta potties total. Obviously nobody needed them Wednesday but it would have been nice to have them for the opener. There's no reason for anyone to have to see anyone else pissing all over the place, but as stated above, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

They definately need more portapotties in the the parking lots, otherwise i have no problem going in the bushes. They also need to add some facilities on the lower deck, i was sitting down there and i seriously decided to run up to the upper deck and then run back down in order to go to the bathroom. It ended up being alot quicker than waiting in line.

I agree. It wasn't bad for the women, except for in the parking lots...and I don't really have the option of the bushes. :(:

Regarding the cub fans, if they want to pay Uncle Jerry the money to come to our ballpark...let 'em. I think some of them actually want to see a real baseball team once in awhile. And when you do see them, ignore them. They are there as trolls and only want your attention. Don't give them satisfaction by giving it to them.
