I had a funny dialog with a probable Flub fan on Opening Day. After the Sox game was over, my friend and I went to a bar to watch the Illinois game. After the Illini game ended (:whiner: ), I went to the bathroom. A guy in the bathroom saw me with my Sox stuff (Sox Pride shirt and Sox hat) and the conversation went like this:

Him: Well, at least today was not a total loss.

Me: Today we had one out of three for favorable outcomes.

Him: Didn't you know, the Cubs won, too?

Me (smiling): I did. Like I said, one out of three favorable outcomes today.

Him (shaking his head): Wow. I've heard you guys are vicious.

Dude, welcome to the Sox Army!:D:

:roflmao: That's why I left out the location of the bar. It's not too far from Hangar.

Why? I kinda like the reputation he told me we have and he did not tell me that the "Sox Suck" or some stupid manure like that. I think he was shocked more than anything else by my response.

He probably just moved here from far away and was told that in Chicago all people are Flub fans and the Sox are a minor league team with whiny, vicious fans.

I never get to have run-ins like this with cub fans. Too bad because I got a loaded gun of comebacks for everything they could possibly say. I guess I'm unapproachable. :?:

Could it be your bat costume and air of tormented detachment?

Ok, let me set the record straight. I was washing my hands at the sink at the time he walked in and made his initial comment to me.

I still hear the tone in his voice when he made the comment. It was like I confirmed everything he had heard about Sox fans, but could not believe (that we really, really hate the Cubs and just do not find anything worth getting giddy about when it comes to that team and any rare success it enjoys). I think he really wanted to believe that Sox fans can feel good about Cub wins since "they are both Chicago teams..." Oh well.

Hey, where is Hangar? Did he pass out from too many beers on Opening Day????
