View Full Version : Baldwin = #1 Starter

This is from an article in the Los Angeles Times

"A baseball official said the Dodgers face competition from another team for Baldwin, but the Dodgers have an edge because Dan Evans, interim assistant general manager, spent 19 seasons with the White Sox and is Wallace's point-man in negotiations. Evans declined comment about the trade talks. The pitching-rich White Sox plan to trade Baldwin--their No. 1 starter--because he can become a free agent after the season."

If they think they're getting a #1 starter, maybe we can get something good out of the deal. Unfortunately, Evans probably knows what the true deal with Baldwin is, but we can hope right?

Phew. I though you were gonna bash us all for wanting to dump JB, given ur thread subject was JB = #1 starter.

And here's some info on Alex Cora, the SS mentioned in the article as a possible prospect to be traded for Baldwin. Seems like a good glove guy with maybe some potential with the bat.

I heard somewhere that a trade would be

Los Angeles gets: JB, Ray-Ray
Sox get: 2B Mark Grudzielanek, and three AAA prospects. I don't think this one would happen though.

Amazing - there is a worse hitter than Royce Clayton and he is Cora. Geeze, a .287 OBP?????? Just what we effing need.

Grudzielanek isn't 1/2 the player Durham is. Unless those prospects are can't miss, this trade would be a disaster.
