I love how on the opening day for Chicago baseball, the best that Phil Rogers can do is publish an article about how the 'lifeblood' of Cleveland, Omar, left after eleven seasons.

What a joke - let's write about one of the Sox major rivals on their opening day.

Phil, In case you haven't noticed, we, the constituants of the City of Chicago, Hate Cleveland. We won't shed tears that the great dynasty that won nothing in the 90's is Without omar visquel.

Jhonny Peralta? Who Cares. If this guy can't spell his own name right, how can he be expected to field short?

Mr. Rogers, When you get done watching Ricky Vaughn and Pedro Cerrano on VHS, and you can pull yourself away from those Drew Carey Reruns, remember that you work in Chicago. You cover the Sox. The day before we start Regular Season, Give us something to ponder, look forward to or to inspire us.

God only knows spring training did none of that!

I'll give Phil the benefit of a doubt here. It's pretty standard for a reporter to write one article about the opponent per series.

While we're talking about Rogers, how about him picking...drumroll please...

Zack Greinke for CY YOUNG

Seriously, even if he does pitch well, he really is going to beat out:
-Johan Santana (defending Cy)
-Randy Johnson (won a ton of Cys)
-Carl Pavano
-Mark Buehrle
-Rich Harden

Rogers was trying to make an "astute" pick, but Greinke doesn't have a whole lot in the way of run support outside of Harvey and Sweeney, who might be traded by the end of the year.

Phil must be concerned about that as well, as he proceeded to write back-to-back articles about Cleveland shortstops for a Chicago newspaper...

Phil, we know ESPN picks up your articles every so often, but don't try too hard!
