In the past, the Chicago papers with their relentless glorification of Cubdom and obfuscation when things go wrong (eg. Wood/Prior injuries) have been likened by some posters here to the infamous Soviet newspaper Pravda. I found a link to the Pravda English version (http://english.pravda.ru/) and it is hilarious. Check out the headlines along the right side:

"Aliens live under the ground"
"Mysterious stigmata"
"Russian time machine"

"Personality of the week: Bobby Fischer" :o:

Whatever the Cubs equivalent is in Russian soccer, I'm sure they root for them. :rolling:

Apparently 'Pravda' is Russian for 'Weekly World News'. :?:

After the Soviet Union fell, Pravda was sold to an Italian businessman in the great sell-off of state property. He has definately lowered standards.

When it comes to Journalistic standards, Pravda doens't make the starting lineup

on another note....

The Cub-Times in the early 1980's had a headline of "Ratta-tat-tat so long Sadat" When Anwar Sadat was Assasinated.
