View Full Version : Call to Sox Army (Again)

So I guess that the Ultimate Chicagoan bracket has gone to the sweet sixteen. Funny, the little blurb about the results of the first two rounds says, "In the Athletes region, the big surprise is that there are two White Sox but no Cubs still alive in Round 3." Thomas is killing McNabb, while MB has a thirty vote lead over Dee Brown. When the Sox win it all, we should email the trib and tell them of our victories!

Vote until ten tonight: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/custom/redeye/chi-ultimate-story,1,4839822.story?coll=chi-homepagenews2-utl

Buehrle has more career victories (69) than Kerry Wood (67) and you combined.

Fairly true....unless the reader actually has notched 2+ MLB victories...

I voted once on mozilla and now I can't vote again.

I closed all browser windows and reopened them to vote again, but the cubune site is giving me a registered member screen. They want me to enter a password and screen name.

I voted hundreds of times in the last round and doing the same things I did then. Why isn't this working now?

I don't know how I will vote. My two favorite players going head-to-head. Buehrle is the ace, but I think I am going to go with the Big Hurt.

In my best Patton impression: "At ease. WSIers love a winner; will not tolerate a loser. I wouldn't give a hoot 'n hell for a soldier who didn't give it his all. And I know you will do your best for your country."

And for those who remember the late great Johhny Carson's spoof. "Now get out there and sell those cookies! God, I love cookies!"

Au contraire...I think we show the Cubune how much love is out there for our Sox by continuing the onslaught. We are few, but we are belligerent (WSI slogan for 2005?).

IMO, The Big Hurt should win by one vote (2,000 - 1,999 sounds about right). Beuhrle is a stud, but this is Frank's team until further notice.

If frank or mark go up against sheahan we may be in trouble.

Sox Addict '73 - Love the signature! Gogh Gogh White Sox! Ha! We should get t-shirts made up.

As for the vote, the Sox Army has taken care of the Cubs players in the bracket, and now it's time to go after the Cub fans. It's easy to vote against Cob-Lover Billy Corgan since Buddy Guy is so awesome and his Legends is on the (near) south side. But what about the Cusack-v.-Murray matchup? I think both are Cubs fans. And does anyone know about Obama's or Sheahan's baseball allegiance?

SoxWillWin
04-01-2005, 09:32 AM
Pretty sure Obama is a sox fan I could be wrong though. As for Murray v. Cusack I think I'll skip that vote

Pretty sure Obama is a sox fan I could be wrong though. As for Murray v. Cusack I think I'll skip that vote I'm lazy, John or Joan cusack? either way i'd go with murray because John is your typical bandwagon drunk party it up in the bleachers cub fan where at least murray seems to be a true fan. Wrigley is just a stop on the kid rock/cusack/chelios annual reunion drinking tour through the city for chelios' charity golf tourny before heading over to Stanley's and getting hammered and feeling up groupies while Kid Rock becomes a karoake mic hog.

I have my internet explorer set to block all cookies. then I close the browser and reopen it then click on the link again and voila. Actually I have the voting page set as my home page for now so I just close it and reopen it. I can get in 3 to 4 votes per minute depending on load times, but cookies have to be blocked or turned off.

If frank or mark go up against sheahan we may be in trouble.
Right now (12:44 pm on Friday), Sheahan is getting destroyed by Obama, and Big Frank is the second-leading vote getter behind Bill Murray (1,475-1,346). When the Sox Army calls in the reserves for the Finals, it'll be all over but the shouting.

:churrosarmy:

"I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our (White Sox), to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone."

--Totally inappropriate paraphrasing of Winston Churchill's "Fight them on the Beaches" speech. Sorry, SoxEd.
