Uribe is the SS of the future

I don't think that Valdez was going to figure in to the future of this club. With Ozuna's Spring thus far (take it for what it's worth), and Uribe at short right now, the Sox don't really need Valdez. The trade is probably a swap of another low level prospect...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's just a waiver claim... It's pretty clear he wasn't going to make the team, and it's not like you can get anything of value for a guy who's can be had for nothing.

I'm not shedding a tear over this. In my mind, Valdez was a distant 3rd after Ozuna and Harris in the infielder depth department. He also never showed much offensively in the brief time he was up with the big club last year and Spring Training this year. Hopefully, Kenny was able to get a pitching prospect for him...you can never have too much of that.

But, this basically means that Kenny traded Billy Koch away for nothing! He's the worst GM ever!

Considering the Mets gave up Kazmir for Zambrano I wouldn't put anything past them.

LOL! Same thing went through my mind. David Wright, perhaps? :D:

He wasn't traded, just waived. The Mets claimed him.

I guess the Mets were looking for a backup for Reyes since Matsui is going to play exclusively at second this year? Interesting pickup. Yeah, David Wright is projected to be the next Rolen or Lowell. Who knows if that will actually happen.

At 30 years old, Ozuna isn't the future of anything except that spot on the bench next to Ozzie.

The only future Valdez is going to have is hanging around triple A Tidewater for the next few years. (Assuming Tidewater is still the Mets triple A franchise  )

Valdez had no future with this team. Tadahito and Uribe have the middle infield covered for the next couple years and Ozuna has had a great spring. All I can say is that I wish him luck with the Mets

Good. See what happens when you give a halfassed effort on a groundball against the Cubs in a ST game!

I'm more concerned with how he actually does on the field... the real field.

Who knows if that will actually happen.Wright put up some pretty impressive numbers in just under half a season last year, so I would think the future looks bright for him.
