Heard about this on the radio (WGN) this morning. A 90 minute documentary about the beloved Mr WOOWOO. I think this would be the perfect companion piece to Santo's "This Old Flub" in any baseball fans video collection.

Can't we just splice togehter an hour and a half of Curly going "woo woo woo woo" and watch that instead? I'm sure it would be more entertaining than this garbage.

Is it going to be a remake of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape"?

I figured that was what the movie was going to be in the first place.

I agree. If this isn't a further sign of the on-coming apocolypse, I don't know what is.

Some bored filmmaker figures this is an easy way to sell something to
the Blue-Sheeped "fans" up north, knowing this Garbage will sell itself.
If that team stunk, you would NEVER have seen that Garbage Propoganda
piece on Santo, nor this Waste of Good Film for Ronnie Woo-Woo.
I Guarantee it.

Im embarrassed to say Im from Chicago.

Well fortunately WE needn't feel embarrassed. We have the White Sox. If I were a Cub fan I'd be totally embarrassed and I'm sure some are. Puzzling though is the fact that this guy is embraced and has actually become some sort of "celebrity". Weird, just plain weird. Woo!

The trouble is, NOTHING embarrasses these people. They think it's cute.

Big Ed, if you were a Flub fan, you'd be beaming like a proud daddy. Because you see this "film" for what it is, it explains why you are a Sox fan.

Thanks to his grandmother's determination to save him from his physically and mentally abusive mother by introducing him to baseball and religion, a young Ronnie becomes inspired after watching Jackie Robinson play at Wrigley Field and flees his unloving home on the South Side in search of a better life on the North Side.

lol. I'm not even ticked off by that, it's just too funny.

I wasn't aware that a "better life" involved stumbling around a neighborhood with one shirt and one hat comprising all your worldly possessions. I guess some are inspired to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc., and some are "inspired" to be, well, whatever the hell he is.

Well, I don't know what's worse. The Ronnie Woo-Woo Movie, or the new sitcom pilot that's making the rounds in town out here called "Wrigleyville." Pray that doesn't get picked up by any network...

I agree in that We Sox fans don't need to be embarrassed and all intelligent cub fans (are there any out there?) should be hanging their collective heads in collective shame. 90 minutes is not needed for any film on this flim-flam man. Like you said, it is just plain weird. How long does it take to say that?

I have only one question: How low will these people go?

With the construction of the new 'campus' at the Urinal, maybe they could construct a little 'woo' house of something that resembles cardboard but is impervious to the elements.

I was an extra in the film "Rookie of the Year" in the Wrigley stands. During one
take Ronnie Koo-Koo did his schtick. The director, Daniel Stern, got on the
radio with the extras co-ordinator and said "tell that guy to either shut up or
get out of here!" She replied "But this is Ronnie Woo-Woo." I don't remember
what Stern said next, or if Ronnie Koo-Koo did his thing after that. Ronnie
Koo-Koo also claims he started the tradition of throwing opposing homeruns
back onto the field. Futhermore, he's America's most glorified bum.

Woo-Woo was brought onto the Stern Show a few years ago by Baba-Booey Gary Dell'Abate after Booey made a Chicagoland appearance and took in a Mets game at The Urinal. What made it great was that Gary was laughing at him, Stern "didn't get it" and thought it was annoying as hell, and Artie Lange (a Yankees fan) just laughed at him and at Cub fans in general. No one on the Stern Show could understand how this guy has become a cult icon amongst fans of anyone. But NY'ers just don't understand the blue-sheep of Chicago.

It was great radio.

There's a pilot shot where the people live across the street from Wrigley Field every season. That premise is about as stale as the Dog Style they serve in the Urinal.

And I must be in the minority here. I can not wait to purchase the Ronnie Woo Woo documentary and screen it for my Cub fan friends.

Won't be the first time (Harry Carey). I know Harry was ours first, I have fond memories of those games in the 70's where Harry was slurring and rambling so much after 6th inning or so that Jimmy Piersal had to translate for those of us at home. We always knew Harry was well on his way when he started talking (in the 2nd inning or so) about how he had his 7 ounce buddies with him (Miller High Life which was sold in 7 ounce bottles for a while).

Sometimes I wonder about Rusty Dusty's sobriety given how he handles pitchers in-game and disciplines players.
