He seemed miffed "reporting" this story, the cubs having made a 4 year
40Million offer to Ramirez to stay a Cub. Levineline says "players
should take these deals".

Heck, I agree with Levine. Ramirez should take that deal if not for the only reason than to watch the Cubs overpay for him. If Konerko's not worth 10 million a year, neither is Ramirez.

I agree. I hope he takes it and then reverts to being the bum that he was while playing for the Pirates, which is why the Cubs got him in the first place for next to nothing(that's complimenting Bobby Hill)

If Konerko's not worth 10 million a year, neither is Ramirez.

Konerko has been more consistent, but last year Ramirez' BA and SLG% were both 40 points higher than Konerko's.

Considering that he plays a more difficult position, Ramirez will get a bigger contract than Konerko if he comes close to matching his 2004 numbers.

Konerko has the edge as far as intangibles. He's a leader, he gets some clutch hits, good clubhouse presence. However, guys don't get paid for "intangibles". Ramirez should get paid more in my opinion. Can't deny the numbers, even though he isn't going to win any gold gloves anytime soon.

Your absence of teal disturbes me:tealpolice:

I think Ramirez will make 23 errors this year. He had only 10 last year (thank you Derek Lee) in 1245 innings compared to 33 in 2003 in 1397 innings.

Today's papers indicate that Le-vineline is full of ****.

I'm shocked.
