TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- White Sox slugger Frank Thomas (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/4527/) arrived Monday for his first day of spring training and said his recovery from offseason ankle surgery could have him back in the starting lineup by the first week of April.

Terrible news! We have to deal with this whining, basepath clogger for a whole year? How many days until the White Sox can buy him out because I can't wait for that?:D:

This quite honestly might be the most important bit of news that we've heard all year. Thomas was producing at an MVP level before getting hurt last year and if he can come back and produce a a similar level then the White Sox might be a playoff team where otherwise they may not have been.

What this also does is enable an Everett/Dye platoon in right field, which could work extremely well if you look at how well Everett has hit righties and Dye lefties over the past few years.
