C.C. Sabathia injured himself warming up against the Tigers and will miss opening day so the Sox will be going up against Westbrook instead. He only pitched against us twice last year, 1st time we scored 1 run on him in 6 innings and lost 7-1 but the 2nd game he gave up 6 runs in 5.1 innings and the Sox won 13-11. Time for........

I don't root for someone to get hurt however, I was worried that having to face Sabathia in the cold on the first game of the season might send a whole host of Sox fans home unhappy after Opening Day. Jake Westbrook is overrated...we're gonna paste him!

In no way was I rooting for anybody to get hurt. I was just excited we weren't facing CC for the opener.

Is it official that he won't start? The Indians official site still says he's "likely" to miss opening day... is there a link confirming he's out?

Linky Thingy (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2007846)

Cleveland Indians (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/clubhouse?team=cle): Manager Eric Wedge said left-hander C.C. Sabathia (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6603) likely won't start the team's season opener because of strained a muscle on his right side. "The best-case scenario, we're probably looking at the second week of April with C.C. I'm happy it was nothing major,'' Wedge told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Sabathia won't throw for a week. The Indians open the season April 4 against the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field.

Well, I was hoping for definite language saying he won't start... but what the heck, here's hoping C.C. has another pizza for his ouchy belly muscle. :gulp:

If you click on his name in the ESPN quotes, take a look at the articles about him last year. Here are a couple, almost all of them are him having different injuries.

Wrong. We beat Westbrook 7-1. I was at that game. Rauch was the winning pitcher. Valentin took Westbrook deep for a 3-run HR in the first inning. That was all we scored in six innings against him, but we pulled away late by scoring off the Tribe's crappy bullpen.

My guess would be Cliff Lee and Kevin Millwood will get the nod for Game 2 and 3.

You are correct, my mistake. I went back and looked, but that just means we hit him better than I previously thought.
