This is starting to get ugly.

A couple of weeks ago www.bostondirtdogs.com published a story that Nomar wanted no part of a ring from the Red Sox. He has denied saying that and it has come out that Silva who runs dirtdogs for the New York Times was set up.

Today on ESPN during the Cubs telecast Gary Thorne called for Silva's firing.

I think there were some good reports made. If he's just a blogger, he needs to be presented as such. If he's a true journalist, then he needs to abide by the ethics of true journalistic integrity.

I think it was a bad relationship for the Globe to link itself to BostonDirtDogs. The best thing that can happen is for the Globe to sever ties with BostonDirtDogs. From what I can tell, the site has no more credibility than the National Enquirer or the Star or any other grocery store tabloids.

Ahhh but you see Silva is not employed by The Boston Globe

He is employed by New York Times Digital Services that operates boston.com

NYT Digital Services is owned by the NY Times and is part of the New England Media Group

The Boston Globe is owned by the NY Times and is part of the New England Media Group

The second largest stake in New England Sports Ventures (17%) is the NY Times.
(who they? NESV owns the Red Sox and 80% of NESN)

The Times says none of these operations is related :roflmao:
