Just looking at the title of this thread, it probably should just be given a sticky and updated each time Commissioner Budlight opens his mouth.

Congress announced that it might subpoena players that refuse to attend the steroid hearings. Bud shares a lot of responsibility for ignoring the problem This all happened under his watch.

Bud's latest http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2006748I think This thread should be retitled "official" and everytime bud sticks his foot in his mouth it should just be added here. So Bud when sosa and mac admit to using steroids during the home run race during this hearing, and there's no more questions about them, are asterisks deserved then? He must have had a 3-way call with sosa and mac about their testimony.

It's hard to argue this point. When he continues to pretend that
owners had no knowledge of 'roid use 7 years ago during the big
"home run chase",I can't help but laugh.

Great title for a thread, we could probably start a new one with the same title every week of the year.

The owners don't want a real commissioner, so you'll never see one again. And Bud's personality is perfect for the role he is playing, which should be called something other than commissioner. You're not going to see Judge Landis anytime soon.

Last time I checked, the MLB plans on playing for the 2005 season. The NHL and Buttman are a joke.
