I love it. I can't tell you how exciting today is for me. The first day (in my lifetime anyway) of MLB in my hometown, and my beloved Sox are opening up. I will get to watch 1 and listen to the other.

How sweet it is...

I am glad I only had to work half of the day today...I can sit around and watch baseball. I feel like this is the summer

Carlos Beltran just picked up his first (unofficial) hit as a New York Met, lining a single to center in the fourth inning.

I have to watch it on mute from now on because this constant steroid talk is too much to take. Only 55 minutes until Rooney and Farmio!

Jose Guillen ties it up with a 2-run BOMB! He's a stud.

Do it to it, Jonny.

uh-oh...There's 1 run, albeit because of poor defensive plays by the Nationals' outfielders. But damn, Rauch gives up HARD HIT BALLS! Remember the game Rauch pitched against the Indians where Rowand had to catch two balls off the wall?

...and Rauch promptly gives up the lead on two BRUTAL fielding plays by the Nats. Mercy!

Rauch....is tall.

But he also gives up runs and has no fastball.

He has given up at least one run, but it could be more 3-2 Mets

Keith Osik of the Nationals just tied up the game 3-3 with a bomb to LF.

Good lord, Carlos Baerga is still playing. :o:

Baerga very recently signed a minor league contract.

He isn't expected to make the team.

It must be sunny out there. This many errors is ridiculous. :o:

Frank Robinson yelling at the ump over the infield fly rule. It's only a Spring Training game, Frank.

It's the first game of the year... a lot of these guys haven't had to field a ball in months. And Frank's gotta get warmed up, too!

One would think that going through fielding drills would be sufficient to get them used to catching the ball again.

You'd think that, but obviously the Nats are still a little rusty... it will probably be the case throughout the season.

Heck the players on my freshman team can at least catch fly balls.

Nats are a 5-3 winner in their first game ever. I'm happy :bandance:

Now the Sox need to beat up on the Rockies...
