Heres my prediction for the 6 game series set and I'm sure most would agree. White Sox take series easily 5 games to 1. The one win comes from us just feeling sorry for the loser as by this time they are behind 1st place Houston by 20 games. (that would be hard to do being it not even mid-season, but they would find a way) Series sweep at SOX park boost the sox to a 40 game winning streak and we win the world series by not losing a game in teh playoffs :D:

ONLY 5 wins? We are guaranteed to win at least 10 games against the ScRubs during the regular season. We only play 6, you say? Don't worry, Ozzie'll find a way. I'll say 10-0 with a combined score of 734-1.

What if they were playing a team of Ditka's?

Is Ditka, Ditka? Or is Dikta a mini-Ditka?

Oppps...not to hijack the thread or anything.

But I think the Sox will go 3-3. Why, I just think that the Cubs are going to have a bad year and are going to switch their pitching staff around to face the Sox so they can brang about something in their utterly depressing season.

Mini-Ditka's in the field and then life-size Dikta as manager.

I think a split is more realistic. As much as we might want the Cubs to be horrible, that pitching staff is still one to be reconed with.

It is always important to do well against the scrubs, just to shut up the mouthy no-nothing scrub fans fromtalking trash throughout the year. Other then that I would much rather focus on how we do against our division rivals in the upcoming year.

I figure we'll split, with each team defending it's home turf 2 games to 1.

I just don't want to get swept again, that July 4 loss was excruciating, especially if you were at The Urinal(I was). That loss was a stomach punch and factor in the ScRubs "fans" celebrating like they won the world series, just brutal.

"Trick question. Ditka is God."

I too was there for that atrocity. And yes, the Cub fans celebrated like Game 7 of the World Series was won. The entire bleacher section tossed their cups of beer to the field after Marte walked in the winning run. The entire outfield was covered in trash. What a "classy" way to celebrate your win. Cub fans were getting up in my face and it was far beyond playful jabbing or goofing around. Not to mention, leaving that park is a nightmare because you just stand there forever because the place doesn't empty out in a timely manner. Standing amongst blue clad sheep in the Urinal after we just got swept was a nightmare I wish never to experience again. I don't need to spend any time in pergatory when I die because I've already been to hell.

I was so pissed at Shingo and Marte for blowing that game. Especially after Carlos hit that dramatic homer to tie it up...to lose the game on a walk was ridiculous. I would have rather had it end with a home run. I hope the '05 Sox can atone for last year's debacle. It was the first time since '98 that the Cubs took a season series against us and their fans acted as if they win against us all the time.

I figure the Sox will go 4-2. The Cubs' staff is still good, as much as I hate to admit it, but their bullpen is atrocious. I think that the new-look Sox will match up favorably against the power pitching of the Cubbies.

I think we will split it.

The Flubs' starting pitching is pretty good (number 5 is a question mark, but probably won't pitch against us). After the 5th or 6th inning, the bullpen comes in and it will be party time for the 1959, er, 2005 Go-Go White Sox. We will score a few runs off the starter before that happens.

Sox sweep season series!:D:

I'm happy there is some time between the two series this year. I like it better that way. One series in May, one in June. My nerves can't take 6 crosstown games in 1 week.:D:

That being said, I think the Sox will reclaim the season series with a 4-2 victory. A sweep at Comiskey, 1 of 3 at Wrigley. We always seem to suffer at NL parks without the DH.

I think it will be a split. Even in years when one team sucks or the other is really good, the series between the Sox and Cubs usually seems to be really competitive and not just one team dominating the other.

In 2002, when both teams blew, the Sox played their hearts out, making that comeback when down 8-0 at the first game of the series at Comiskey. Still one of the best games I've ever watched on TV. Too bad I wasn't there. I went to the one game they lost at Comiskey that year.

I was at that game one of the best games ever. The Carlos grand slam was pretty good too.

The looks on their faces was absolutely priceless.

I gotta say split. As long as the sox dont get swept and protect their home turf, I dont have a problem with 3-3 as the result.

No sweep in Wrigley though, that was brutal.

I say we take the series 4-2 but I wouldn't mind a split either. I remember vividly going to the game where Valentin hit a walk-off homer against the Cubs. It was great!!!
