The Evil Corporation takes a Big Lead today. The Cub-Times seems
to want to Rehash and Regurgitate the same old news again. This time,
they put Sammy on the Front AND Back covers. Cubune does a Fluff
Piece on Ryne Sandberg, and the SOX barely get any new coverage,
Fluff or otherwise.

Cubune:
3 cub stories
2 sox stories
Cub-Times:
4 cub stories
1 sox story Cubs get both Covers

CUBS 34
SOX 27

I believe at one point, the number of Cub stories was DOUBLE what
the SOX stories were, I pretty much gave up in August ..............

I believe at one point, the number of Cub stories was DOUBLE what
the SOX stories were, I pretty much gave up in August ..............August was when they were just getting warmed up. For the last two months of the season the Cubune featured the Lovable Losers on the front page of the sports section every day while any Sox stories were carried on page 4 next to the fold. They even pulled the reporter they had assigned to the Sox and assigned him to other stuff and just ran AP stories. The coup de grace was Labor Day weekend when the Cubs were rained out by the hurricane in Florida. The Sox swept Seattle that weekend and barely got mentioned while the Cubs' NOT playing was front page news.
