MY EYES! MY EYES! AAAAAAAAH!!!

Those are some God-awful uni's. Anyone paying $169.00 for a BP jersey must be certifiable, especially since I paid $60 for my Sox BP jersey, which looks a helluva lot better than the Mets.

The Cubs already have the ugliest blue uniforms. Why are the Mets trying to match them? :o:

Was it two years ago that MLB made the big announcement and all the teams unveiled their new BP unis? Is this the first major revision for any team? I could be wrong, but I think the Mets were wearing those crazy orange BP jerseys the last two years.

Interesting thing they're doing with the sleeves on the BP jersey. The sleeves are black, but in a sort of diagonal direction. Weird. Never seen that before on a major league uni.

That's a vile calumny!

Even the teams in the Conference North (a semi-pro league that is five tiers of relegation below the Premiership) have better kits than the Mets' new BP gear.

Or did you mean they're reminiscent of the uni's a US HS Girls' soccer team might wear?

I know that the Padres only wear the Camo ones because of Camp Pendelton being right down there.

As far as the BP uniforms I remember that a few years ago everyone was switching to the newly designed ones, and most teams had the odd ones, but the Sox was exactly the same hat included, I was kind of dissapointed by that. Even if they didn't change the uni, maybe a weird alt. hat would have been cool. The idea I had as far as a had would be a black bill, a grey top and the black "C" in the script of the road uniforms with white outline. I'm sure some people won't like that idea, but it was just and idea I had.

Are the Mets kidding me? Im so glad im not a Mets fan. There is
no Franchise that would purposely suit themselves up in horrible uniforms....
all across the board.

The Hats, the BP Jerseys, the Home Jerseys,
the home Pants, the BP Hats, the Alternate Black Jersey,
The Alternate-to-the-ALternate Black Jersey, Every step of the way, This Team owns the WORST UNIFORMS IN BASEBALL. Thats a bogus franchise man im so sorry for people who are Mets fans. Talk about robbing of dignity.

Where they went wrong, was in trying to make BLACK part of their color
scheme. They shouldve just stayed with the Blue Hat, Home Pinstripe,
Simple METS in script, and road gray NEWYORK jersey. BP Jersey?
Make it solid Blue. The Mets remind me of a High School team
with barely enough money to get nice uniforms, and these are the ones
they have to wear. What was that guys character from Pretty In Pink? The guy opposite Molly Ringwald? The guy that tries Way-Too-Hard
to get Mollys attention, but is too much of a Dweeb for her??
Thats the NY METS.
I puke in my mouth, a little bit, every time I see the NY Met logo, and uniform.

RKMeibalane

Maybe there's more to this situation than we realized. Think about it. From the looks of things, the Mets have been doing a lot of tinkering with their uniforms, and we all know who is working for them now.

I actually liked those uniforms. The slightly-smaller numbers and the white "C" on the helmet were totally old-school. I didn't even mind the orange. What made me want to puke was the way they played in them.

These are just batting practice jerseys. Who cares? If they took em on the field that would be a different story. I do think the blue hat with the black NY is bad. Just weird looking, creepy and dark.

I like the Mets all white home uniforms with the piping and the blue and orange script. Those are very sharp. But the black has gotta go. What are they trying to be the anti-Yankees with all these crazy uniform changes?

In fact, I'll probably write a note to Brooks Boyer to ask him to consider a camoflague-style jersey for the Sox to wear on Memorial Day, or a day to honor the Armed Forces. I'm also thinking on proposing special Sox caps in the colors of each of the Armed Services, such as an olive-drab green and black for the Army, navy blue and white for the Navy, a lighter blue and silver for the Air Force, red, yellow, and black for the Marines, and red, white, and black for the Coast Guard. Each cap would have the Sox logo on the front, and the logo of the specific branch stitched on the side.

As far as the uniform is concerned, the Padres wear that since Camp Pendleton (a Marine base) and a Navy base is nearby. They wear that to honor the men and women in the Navy and Marine Corps, and I think it's a great idea.

Camo'd baseball jerseys may not be the best looking in MLB...I'll grant you that. However...think about the men and women who wear military uniforms for a living. Fighting for our freedom isn't supposed to be fashionable. If the San Diego Padres want to thank the troops and veterans like me for our service...then I'll gladly accept. Besides...I'd even buy a camoflauged Sox jersey if they ever use one.

Camo jerseys? Ugh. There are nicer ways to show your support for the Armed Forces without looking completely awful. Ask the 1917 Sox.

Now that's classy. Camoflague jerseys are just uuuuuuuuuuuuuugly.

Hate to break it to some of the young folks but in 1969-1970, the Sox actual road uniform was light blue, with white and tan trim.

The white numbers set on a light blue background were almost impossible to see either in person or on TV. Topping it off was the fact that the sanitary sock was royal blue with a white stirrup, with blue stripes over it.

Not good.

On the subject of camo unis, I found this one on the Yanks' (http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1830389&cp=1452360.1452525.1472482&parentPage=family) Shop page.

Kinda puts me off the Sox having one, even if it were in tribute to the Armed Forces.

I'd agree with doublem23 about a way to pay tribute that's more appropriate to our team.

I like the home version of those uniforms, for some reason. I don't know why.
All they were doing is ripping off Boston and Detroit. I mean, the Red Sox win
the 1967 AL pennant, the Tigers win the 1968 World Series; in 1969 the White
Sox trot out with the exact type of uniform. Coincidence? I think not. Still, I
like them anyway.

The Camo-Padres jerseys are worn once or twice a season to honor the service men and women that make San Diego their home. They are in no way an abomination.

That's my all-time favorite Sox uniform.
It just looked really understated and classy.
The shade of blue was a little lighter than the Tigers, and that added to the look, I think.
Today's uniform is my second favorite ever - again, an understated, simple, classic and timeless look.
