They had his quotes on some Score updates yesterday in the afternoon and it was the drive home before I got the jist of what he was saying (after hearing it a 4th time). Same thing with the Channel 7 news. He talks so quick with a heavy spanish accent it has to be a challenge for interpreters to understand him as well as the American players. Not a slam, just interesting to ponder.

Iguchi's biggest adjustment in the United States could be playing for a livewire such as Guillen, as opposed to the stoic leaders in Japan. As Iguchi waited to talk with the English-speaking press Monday, Guillen approached the group and asked Iguchi, "Do you speak English?"

When Iguchi answered with just a smile, Guillen responded, "Don't worry. Neither do I." It didn't take long for the second baseman to feel at home, the final destination of a journey that included one stop in Japan and one in Los Angeles on Sunday.

"I saw him smile," Guillen said of Iguchi. "Last year, I didn't see Shingo smile until the last two weeks, three weeks of the season. But he's smiling and he understands. He wants to come to the States and show people he can play here."

I always enjoy how he says "You know, Itellyouwhat." at least once during an interview when answering a question. He's like the Tony Montana(sp? or maybe a spanish accent on the name) of the White Sox organization.

He can also start off any sentence with it.

Ozzie then turned to the media, with his arm around Iguchi, and encouraged them to "Zay 'ello to my leetle friend"
