Well...according to the Detroit Free Press, the wonderful Scott Boras definitely had his hands in sending Magglio to the Tigers...
The contract is five years for $75 million, about $5 million more than what had been reported as the Tigers' original offer. The contract has protections for the Tigers should Ordonez land on the disabled list for an extended time due to a recurrence of the knee trouble that required multiple surgeries last year. It also gives Ordonez the opportunity to make more if the Tigers pick up two option years at the end.
Here's the link to the actual article... (http://www.freep.com/sports/tigers/guidi7e_20050207.htm)
Let's see if anyone actually catches this and tries to follow up on the negotiations...I wouldn't hold my breath.
