Cruz will most likely bat sixth, but Bob Melvin says he won't hesitate to hit him 2 or 1 if he shows a better ability to get on base.

He strikes out too much to be a leadoff hitter.

I have always liked Cruz Jr., and it's too bad he's turning into a journeyman (4th team in 4 seasons).

Honest question for the stat-heads (I'm not one): Are his stats (http://www.baseball-reference.com/c/cruzjo02.shtml) all that bad? :?:
