I agree with everything except for the fact that Uribe is hitting more HR then Aaron. Overall, I think the Sox will be in the 175-200 HR range this year.

Pretty good predictions...Thomas will have more than 53 RBI and I dont count on Uribe hitting anymore than 20 home runs this season.

I think I don't care how many homers the team hits. Tell me how many runs they'll score. Pods, Iguchi, and Frank, who could well be the 1-3 in the order for most of the season had better drive in more than 152 runs combined.

Good job, except Konerko will hit 40 home runs this year :D:

I believe everyone will have a higher average than you predicted. Pods will hit around .290. I expect at least .280 out of Iguchi, but I wouldnt be surprised at all if he hit 300. Dye will hit over .300 because he is finally healthy, and Everett will hit close to it. What would make you believe AJ will hit .270? He hit higher than that last year in the NL. He is a career .306 hitter in the AL, and he will at the very least match that in this bandbox. I expect Crede to be in the .270s, and if Frank gets his head on straight and hits for average instead of swinging for the fences, he will easily bat .300.

I'd be amazed if Crede puts up those numbers.

My 2005 predictions:

Podsednik - .275/10/40 60 SB
Iguchi - .285/10/60 30 SB
Konerko - .275/40/110
Rowand - .290/20/70
Dye - .275/20/70
Pierzynski - .290/10/70
Everett - .275/20/60
Uribe - .275/20/70
Crede - .260/20/80
Thomas - .265/20/70

With Dye/Everett/Thomas being a virtual 3-man "platoon" (Everett backing up both in the DH and RF spots), playing about 110 games apiece.

Buehrle 17-10/3.75 ERA
Garcia 18-12/3.75 ERA
Hernandez 13-6/3.50 ERA (2 visits to 15 day DL)
Contreras 14-10/5.00 ERA
Garland 12-12/5.00 ERA

Shingo 2.75 ERA/50 saves

215 HR total for the team
89-73 record (lots of beat-eachother-up games with the Twinks, Tigers and Injuns)
1st place in Central
Win ALDS vs. Angels 3-2
Lose in ALCS to Yankees 2-4

All in all a very exciting year, but no big prize just yet.

Sox couldn't beat the Angels to save their lives - as long as Vlad is on the Angels and Adkins is still throwing first-pitch curveballs.

I'd say its a bit too early for player statistical predictions. Fun, though.

I predict that we will see so many prediction threads in the next fews weeks that I will be tempted to throw my monitor out the window!

Is that Ozzie's preferred matchup- Adkins against Guerrero? The team fired Bevington seven years ago.

evidentally you forgot Vlad's game-winning homerun off of Adkins late last season.

See it here (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/wrapup.jsp?ymd=20040910&content_id=853881&vkey=wrapup2004&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb)

EDIT: game-tying 3run homer.

EDIT: game-tying 3run homer.

All I'm saying is arguing one team is better than another because their best hitter is better than the other's worst pitcher is not very compelling. The Angels are likely better than the Sox, but I doubt any close game this year will be determined by Guerrero batting against Adkins.

In a short series the sox would have the advantage imo because of their rotation and I highly doubt Adkins makes the team.
