The Dodgers will announce the signing of Norihiro Nakamura in a press conference on Thursday.
It's assumed Nakamura will receive a minor league deal after the Dodgers won his rights through the posting system.

"Hey, what about me?"

Not a bad signing for the Dodgers, although I still think they should have put up the two or three extra million to just keep Beltre.

Japanese star signs one-year minor league contract"

I would have loved a backup for Crede at that price but we don't really have the roster spot. :whiner:

I thought this guy was major league ready. What gives?Nakamura was thought to be MLB-ready a couple of years ago when the Mets were on the verge of signing him to a 2-year, $7 million deal but he backed out of the contract offer and re-signed with his Japanese team for alot more money. Since then, he has had two disappointing and injury-prone seasons in Japan. Here are Nakamura's career numbers in Japan...

League minimum is a steal considering his upside. Even if he doesn't pan out, he won't cost anything and could be a decent backup 3B/1B. People ripped the Dodgers for letting Adrian Beltre sign with Seattle but the combination of J.D. Drew and Nakamura could make them forget about him rather quickly.

He sure hit a ton of homer runs a few years ago.

Homer runs? Nice...hehe. Sorry, I know it was a slip up, but that's really funny. I might use that.
