I'm a relative newcomer compared to some of the folks here (having jumped on the Sox wagon in 1973), and I can't vouch for the quality of this product, but I thought some of you might be interested in some bygone Sox footage:

P.S. Now, if only I could watch some 1972-77 footage, I'd be all set.

It might be a reach, but is there a way that you can show short clips of the games so that customers (and yourself) would have an idea of the video quality? Just a thought.

They don't have clips available on the site, but according to their information, they go to a lot of trouble restoring the quality of the tapes. I don't really know anything about the company, I just found the web site this morning after reading about it in USA Today.

They also have a 1959 World Series tape available:

I have bought some stuff from this guy. Its good quality video from the time its from. I bought some old "summer of" baseball DVDs from him. I enjoy them a lot. Some pretty neat stuff on it. Also I will be buy the world series DVD from him soon.

I have that video and certainly enjoyed it. Sox author / historian Rich Lindberg wrote the copy for the video. My only suggestion to improve it in the future would be to hire someone else to do the voice over work. The gentlemen who did the voicing on this tape doesn't have the best voice around.

I got the VHS tape for Christmas a couple of years ago and it was great to see Nellie, Minnie, etc. in action again. I bought the 1959 series on DVD from them this year and it has the 1956-1960 newsreels as part of the DVD so you only need to buy one to get both. I think the transfer is excellent.

Thanks for the good info on the DVD! I'll be contacting them tomorrow!
