This (http://www.suntimes.com/output/business/cst-fin-trib28.html) isn't a baseball story necessarily, but I thought it was interesting how the "media empire" is crumbling brick by brick. Who knows...this might start the Tribune Company's ultimate downfall.

I understand where you are coming from on this but it doesn't effect any of it's Chicago media properties at all.

I doubt that it'll be their downfall, but it's a nice comeuppance for the highly self-important Tribune. It's always galled me that the Tribune's bosses write harrumphing editorials about how the FCC should allow more media consolidation, arguing that it's purely a matter of free-speech principles, when of course all it's about is protecting their profitable corporate assets.

Bah. Maybe they'll finally have to sell the Cubs too, and then they can write sincere editorials about the evils of steroid use.
