The only prediction I will make is there will be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 more prediction threads before the first pitch is even thrown.

All your totals seem a little high, but there is nothing wrong with being optimistic. I would love to see Buerhle get 20 and I really think he has a chance. However, here are my predtictions.
Buehrle 18
Garcia 15
Contreras 13
El Duque 10
Garland 13
That's about 70 wins from your starters, add about 5 from a spot starter and whatever you can get from the bullpen, and you are talking 90 wins.

I'll do Wins and ERA:
Buehrle: 18, 3.95
Garcia: 14, 4.10
Contreras: 10, 4.80
Hernandez: 15, 3.80
Garland: 13, 4.50

that IS optimistic! 81 wins just by the starters?
try:
buehrle 19
garcia 17
contraras 11
hernandez 14
garland 10
where we win is by the extra wins by the bullpen.

Thats 70 wins, bullpen needs at least 20. I believe they had 21 last year.

I'm not going to make any predictions because I really have no idea, but here's something for you guys to ponder:
The bullpen being upgraded=more wins for starters because there are less blown leads or blown saves. In other words, a good bullpen pads starters' stats.

I think the starters will average 15 wins each. Burhle and Garcia could top 20 which will push the average up.
But...enough of predictions....BRING IT ON! LET'S GET STARTED!

If the Sox lose opening day this place is going to go nuts. :D:

buehrle- 18 or 19
garcia- 15 (he wont be winning too many at home)
contreras- 13
el duque- 13
garland- 17 (he'll figure out not to throw the change up)

Buehrle 18, 4.13 ERA
Garcia 18, 3.85 ERA
Contreras 14, 4.28 ERA
Duque 11, 3.94 ERA
Garland 13, 4.39 ERA
74 total, probably a little optimistic....I love Buehrle and definitely agree he IS our ace, but I think Freddy will have the better year...
I hope Im wrong, but I dont see any of our guys gettin 20 just because the bang box for a home park they pitch in...Oh well, I still see a great year for the Fab 5

I bet Garland has a good year. He'll probably be one of the top 10 #5 starters in baseball.

If he wins 16 games, that would make him the best #5 starter in baseball. By a long shot.

MB- 17-10
FG- 21-7
JC- 11-10
OH- 13-11
JG- 15-12
theres 77 wins by the starters, and I'll guess the bullpen wins between 15-20, which stays true to my prediction that the sox will win 95 games this year.

Jon Garland will not win double-digit games this year. I'm surprised the lowest number I saw for him was 10. Hope I'm wrong, obviously.

Holy Smokes! Talk about springtime optimism! Does everyone really think that all 5 starters will stay healthy all year? How about some injury starts for Hermanson?
I'm a "glass half full" kind of Sox fan as well. How often do all 5 starters stay healthy on any team?
If Garland is the 5th starter and can't get a couple extra wins by accident because of other teams pitching garbage and somehow lower his ERA...15 wins out of him should be easy! :?:
