I dunno if it was bigger, but when Sammy got busted for the corked bat, it was just as entertaining...

Wasn't the Garcia trade thread the longest?

Don't worry, the Iguchi story has 451 posts so far, and is going strong.

I don't know if it was the longest, but there was a thread about a year ago started by someone speculating that Reinsdorf was going to remove the outfield shower from USCF. It turned out to be nonsense, but the thread erupted into an endless brawl over the pros and cons of the shower. The freakin' shower, people! If anything, that thread reinforced the fact that no subject is too insignificant to prompt a long, drawn-out brawl. That thing went on for days, weeks! Nations rose and fell, but after the broil, the shower remained.

The thread that speculated the trade was even better. It started with Levine reporting that Kenny was running around looking for JR. KW also told Levine that he might have news within the next 2 hours. We then spent about 3 hours talking about the possibility of this trade and numerous other weird topics. It was actually quite a fun(ny) thread.
