I don't post here very much but I didn't see this posted here at all and I thought people would be interested. At 6:00 pm eastern (5 central) mlb.com is going to be streaming the 1959 World Series film. It is free. Here is the link.

I will have fun with this. Actually I just went and purchased the MLB all-access pass for $3.95 a month. It's great- I'm listening to July 2, 2003 with Farmer and Rooney-- in which Konerko hit a pinch-HR in the bottom of the 11th with two outs to tie the game and Hurt hit one in the 12th to win it. It was the single greatest game I have attended.

On the bright side it is some good coverage of each game. They started the '56 series a few minutes ago, I think the '59 series could be on as soon as 9pm eastern. :gulp:

Sorry guys I guess they listed the wrong times. This is a bummer. I was looking forward to it. :(: I guess if they stay at this pace though they will show it around 8 est (7 cst).

The '57 series video has just begun. I'd say 8:30 EST is a good time to tune in. :bandance:

I remember that game. Wasn't that when Paulie was right in the middle of that horrible slump? Then Frank tagged Guardado in the 12th?

A big thanks to asboog. Been watching these world series clips on and off all night. Lotsa guys my dad raved about are in these games, both NL and AL. The '58 series is on now. Warren Spahn - what a great pitcher.

Just went to the site and leave it up to MLB to screw up the team logos. They have the Atlanta 'A' and the Giant's 'SF' logos on the links to WS games when those teams still played in Milawaukee and NY. At least they got the Dodger's Brooklyn logo right.

Im trying to watch these games and it works OK, but every 10 seconds its buffering and skipping, then the picture freezes and I can only hear the announcer...Is this just because my connection is bad or is there a way I can fix it?

Playing baseball in the LA Coliseum is like playing WWII on the planet Jupiter.

I remember that game. Wasn't that when Paulie was right in the middle of that horrible slump? Then Frank tagged Guardado in the 12th?yep. Paulie hadn't even started that day... it was his 4th homer of the season. I had the newspaper from the next day a long long time but I think it got mistakenly tossed.

edit: make that every TWO seconds. :angry:

re re edit: they finally fix it for the last game.

My Dad was at game 1, like he always told me - "the Sox got all the breaks that day, too bad it didn't last"

The yard looked just like it looked 5 years later for my first game. Nellie was sweet. Just watching that - skips and all was great.

Two things;

1. The "smack" of the bat & ball in these videos is, to be polite, extremely annoying.

2. Ted Kluszewski was the original LTP, but could hit too.

yep. Paulie hadn't even started that day...

Yep, he pinch hit for Daubach (who actually had a big homer earlier in the game). Manual was playing the righty/lefty match-up with the switch, but it was a hell of a gamble based on PK's slump.
