FLA Senate President: Marlins are "terrorists"

Marlins President David Samson is seeking an additional $60 million in taxpayer money to keep the team in South Florida.

Senate President Tom Lee takes a Reagan stance and says he "does not negotiate with terrorists".

Just think, this could have been the White Sox if Big Jim Thompson hadn't fallen for JR's "extortion" back when. It's good to know that there's a politician out there with some common sense. And, just what is the population in Vegas now-a-days? Do they think the regulars will fill a stadium? The gamblers won't be free to go, they'll be busy in the casinos until they tap out, then they won't be able to afford a game, at least not at today's rates. :bandance:

Won't need to. Every major hotel & casino will buy up virtually all of the skyboxes and many tickets. Regardless of the rapidly growing population in LV, many tourists will attend games, without a doubt. You don't think that the City of as Vegas will give them a sweet stadium deal? Celine Dionne had an amphitheater built for her 3 year contract that cost close to $500M, paid for individually by a casino. What do you think they would do for an MLB team?
