Bah! Upper deck only... I remember in 03 it was any seat in the house. Or something like that. It wasn't upper deck only.

That doesn't seem like it makes financial sense for anyone...except the buyer. Can anyone explain the economics behind this to me?

Can anyone explain the economics behind this to me?Cheaper tickets/ buy 1 get 1 tickets = more people come = more revenue from a) parking, b) food, c) beer, d) misc. merchandise, etc. In many cases, these are seats that would have gone unused and people that would not have otherwise come, so all of the money is a bonus - half of the money is better than none of the money. Granton makes their money simply by selling the books. The consumer saves a lot of money on the tickets if they use them all.

That makes a lot of sense. I should really take an Econ 101 class or something here at the U of I. Someone remind me when registration rolls around.

Illini......Hell Yeah undefeated this year baby........................You should also take some accountancy classes, because they are ranked #2 in the nation. (almost as high as they are ranked in B-ball)

Why is this post getting hijacked? And worse of all it's about the Illini.

It's not just the thread, it's the state. :(:

Illinois, where the football team reeks, even though they have a tradition of turning out great players in the secondary...what else would you expect from a "safety school"

I actually have an Econ degree from U of I. It's done me absolutely no good whatsoever. But, hey, at least it gives me valid justification to root for a good team in something without seeming like a bandwagon-jumper...

They are a great bargain as long as you don't dislike the UD. ...Call Granton Marketing at 800 777 1975. I'm not sure when they go on sale - the past two years it wasn't until about mid June.

Last year they went on sale in April I believe. I had the coupon book VERY early in the season, IIRC.
