Let me guess: you'll be wearing Sox jerseys.

I know a bunch of you will be there; any way we'll be able to recognize each other?

My jersey's got my name on it, but I doubt everybody else has the same...

Not a bad idea: pick one familiar face.

It'll be like playing "Where's Waldo?"

Which of course, last year, was aka "Who's the fifth starter today?"

Sounds like a plan. Look for Hangar!

You can't miss me. I'm the portly (that means fat) guy in either a gray or black Windy City Sox Fans sweatshirt. I'll be wearing either my 1917, 1959, or 1971 Sox cap. I may be accompanied some of the time by my son Jeff. He's hard to miss. He'll be in the sweatsuit that covers his back brace.

Much of the time I'll be at our booth, #15, across from the ESPN-1000 broadcasting booth presiding over the World Famous Pencil Pull. The right to pull a pencil costs half as much as a Sox Pride bracelet, and you walk away with a price no matter what. Proceeds go to Chicago Baseball Cancer Charities, earmarked for Children's Memorial Hospital. If you really want to help, shell out the 25 bux and join the club. Roland Hemond is among our dues paying members.

I never did make it to the atrium bar this weekend. I don't know if any of you who were there noticed, but in the part of the exhibition hall the WCSF booth was in, the temperature was about 97 degrees Celsius. By the time each day in the booth was finished, I was beat. In addition, I think I have a sinus infection (call to doctor coming in the morning after I call the body shop about the flat tire on the part of the car they repaired last week), so drinking was probably not the best thing to do anyway.

Somehow, Jeff managed to stick out the three days, although he did sleep till noon yesterday.

To everyone who stopped by the booth and said hi, it was good to see you. To those of you who pulled one or more pencils, thanks to you all, and to Steff and anyone else I don't know about who joined the WCSF, thanks a million.

You can mail the membership fee of $25.00 along with your name, address, phone number, and email address to:

Windy City Sox Fans
PMB 213
Oak Lawn, IL 60453

Sometime in the next couple of months (in the past it's been before opening day), you'll receive your membership packet. It always contains a Sox gift and a club gift. This year we're looking at something to commemorate our 10th anniversary. (Man, it doesn't seem that long!) You'll also get four copies of the club newsletter, which is quarterly but doesn't really come out exactly at three month intervals.

Before the Spring newsletter, we usually have dates for the "Lunch Bunch" luncheon schedules. The hard part is getting players to commit to the luncheons, but a couple of them said they would do them. In fact I heard one when Mary Kay asked him if he knew about the luncheons, "Oh, I've heard about them!" Sounds like a little former shortstop from Venezuela has put the word out. As a player, and last year as manager, Ozzie has always insisted on doing the first luncheon in June.
