I hope he can't handle the pressure.

A real credit to the Yankee uniform, like Alex "Slappy" Rodriguez.

LOL he already had a statement released on the Hotlist about how he was sorry and he has been going through a lot with all the rumors etc etc etc.

If you can't handle the heat, don't go into the fire and only want to go to NY! Poetic justice?

So I guess the 2 NY teams are going to have dualing press conferences for RJ and Beltran tomorow

Man, I hate the Yankees...

I would love to see him perform poorly. Like 12-14, 4.50 ERA...but it probably won't happen.

I was surprised last year to learn that RJ wanted to play for the Yankees. Yes, they win, but this is a guy who pretty much hates dealing with the media. What did he expect going to the media capital of the world? I suspected there would be incidents like this one, but didn't think he'd have one on his first day in NY.

"I hope that everyone will understand that the past few days have been a bit overwhelming and I wish I had handled the situation differently," Johnson said. "I am very sorry it happened." -- Johnson issued a statement through agent Alan Nero that was distributed by the Yankees.

I believe him. I also Randy Johnson word-smithed the quote, too.

*****... Randy Johnson is MLB's biggest (and tallest) red ass. Actually, this upcoming season will be kind of fun for Yankee-tabloid entertainment value.

Just for this, I'm pulling for Carlos Beltran to have huge season, and for Johnson to fall flat on his face. How great would it be to see the Mets steal the spotlight away from the Yankees?

I am now instituting the *Official* Carlos Beltran Fan Club. Whoever wants to join is welcome.

If he stinks it's because he's old.
