Joe Crede, Willie Harris, Jon Garland, Jose Contreras.
Crede- We all know that he's a great defensive thrid baseman, but the Sox need more production from him at a corner position....he definetly needs to shorten his swing and try and make more contact.
Harris- Maybe the fastest player on the team (Podsednik is close), can play solid defense, but is a very streaky hitter. Needs to model himself off Juan Pierre and lay down more bunts.
Garland- Probably has the best chance to have a great year, but that's what we have been saying for the last 2 years. He's ususally good for the first 4 or 5 innings, but after those, he loses control and focus, and it's all downhill from there. Has a great sinker, but has to pitch low in the zone with everything else and mix in a fastball up and in once and a while.
Contreras- Showed signs of improvement with the Sox last year, hopefully, a full year with the Sox will settle him down. Was tipping pitches last year with the Yankees, Cooper trying to fix it. Needs big year out of the #4 spot if the Sox want to win the Central.
