Not necessarily the player who you think will help us the most, but which newcomer's antics are you most looking forward to seeing at USCF this coming summer?

I think it's obvious who I picked. Dye is my #2. I'm gonna love seeing his cannon in RF, as well as him launch quite a few this year.

I'm pretty excited about all of the new acquisitions. Scott's my #1, but I'm particularly awed by that darned El Duque leg kick. It's hard to look at, but it's just as hard to look away

Podsednik. I think if he's his 03 self, we'll do a lot of damage. And I love watching fast guys who get on with infield hits and steal a lot of bases.

And just the whole group of new guys we have. Hernandez, to see what he can do, Dye, because I think he's due for a big injury-free year, Pierzynski because it's been so long since we had a catcher who could hit, and even Contreras because we only saw a glimpse of him and this is his official fresh start without family problems or New York pressure problems. God knows how good he can be. We'll see..

ScottP for me.

I'm not worried about his SB's. Those will come. It's his ability to put the ball in play that worries me. Since he doesn't walk a whole lot...

56 BB's/558 AB's in 2003
58 BB's/640 AB's in 2004

... his OBP is mostly driven by the number of hits he has...

175 hits in 2003
156 hits in 2004

Base knocks Scott, base knocks.

Well... I'll also luv seeing him motor on the base paths!

El Duque, he has always been one of my favorite pitchers to watch. I honestly believe that he will earn his incentives this year!

Hard to pick one. I gotta say I am excited to see the new battery lineup with AJ behind the plate catching for Freddy, Mark, and El Duque. Gonna be fun!!!

I picked Pods too. I think it would be cool if the "Go! Go!" chant from the old days was revived.

SBs are such an important part of "Mfg. Runs". I went with him too.

What about Garcia, the sweat machineGarcia is the second coming of Ray Burris. I've been an El Duque fan for a few years now. I'm looking forward to his angles, deliveries, and most importantly, victories.

When was the last time we had a young player ( not Raines ) capable of getting on base and putting pressure on the defense? Rudy Law?

poor unpopular dusty. :(: LOL. I remember on MJ&H after the Hermanson signing somoene did a parody of "Dust in the Wind". It went like "Duuuustin Herman-son. All we got is Dustin Hermanson" because they were upset thinking that he was the only person KW was going to acquire in the offseason. Boy were they wrong! :D:

Now all the Sox need is a slick fielding 2B, who bats left, has superior bat control and good eye for strikes - who can lay down the bunt and steal bases.

From your list, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with Pierzynski. I wasn't a big fan of this move initially, but for the money, and with Ozzie's (hopefully) take no **** attitude, I think it's a good risk. It will be interesting watching how AJ works at reshaping his reputation. I want to see how he and Ozzie get along and what kind of a teamate he seems to be. I want to see how he handles the staff and what kind of field general he is. I hope we're all big fans of this move when late summer rolls around.

I wanna see the entire new way we will play ball this year. Kinda reminds me of when I was a small kid in the 60's and the Sox always had to play smallball. I'm looking forward to it.

Vizcaino is Marte backwards? Does that mean he'll be able to get people out?

Podsednick. If he can give the Sox consistent production at the top of the order, they're going to be tough to beat.
