Buerhle who's been robbed of the Gold Glove by Mussina and east coast bias is terrific w/ the leather. Garland is a very good athletic fielder. Garcia seemed o.k. but I thought Contreras was suprisingly good especially w/off-balance throws to first. Does anybody know how The Duke can field? The last few years the Sox have seemed pretty good at the 1-6-3. Discuss.

El Duque has a career fielding pct of .989. He's had 2 fielding errors, both in '99.

Good thread. A lot better than those stupid mammoth speculation threads.

That is something that Hawk doesn't let go unnoticed. Buerhle and Garland are two of the better fielding pitchers in all of baseball. I think it's a nice little weapon to have.
