Did any of you get a letter from the Sox about the Cub series tickets? I have done a group of 100 people for the last 4 years and I received a letter yesterday letting me know about a policy change. In order to get my same 100 tickets to the Saturday game that I normally get, I have to buy at least 20 tickets for 2 additional games. It seems the more tickets and money my group spends the Sox just keep wanting more and I have to come up with a 20% deposit by Jan 12th, next week. I don't have any problems getting rid of my tickets to the Cubs game but what do I do about the 2 other games and have a decision by next week.
I am not liking this new stupid rule and calling my ticket rep does nothing for me at all.

I ended up having to cancel mine, I had a thread here about 3 weeks ago about it... If you can affoard the deposit, I couldn't, on the two other games there were people here that were willing to help by buying the tickets.

I would be more than willing to help you out organize two more outings. A lot of people here said they would be up to getting together for some outings.

One of the reasons that I heard from my ticket rep on the policy change is that season ticket holders extra Cub-Sox tickets were up in the last upper rows and the Sox want them to have better seats since they spend on a season package. They figure if Groups want to spend on the Cub-Sox that they will also want to go to more games. They also know that the Cubs-Sox will always sell out; however, they want people to spend on other games as well.

So instead of me and my friends and their significant others being able to meet up for one time out of the year, season ticket holders are able to scalp better seats? How about they give me the option of sitting in the last three rows in the corners of the upperdeck, before making me cancel my group because they were a little to greedy for the average fan!

I'm not disagreeing with you; just passing on information. I do know it is hard to accomodate everyone for the Cubs-Sox games. I have noticed that there are way too many Cub fans at these games!

You must be mistaken. Cub fans don't go to southside. They would be held at gunpoint within seconds of parking.

No, he's right: there are WAY too many Cubs fans at Sox games; and there's a handful of Sox fans at the Cubs games--I was there at Wrigley last summer, trust me.

i hate it more when a guy shows up in a twinkies jersey, we had three in one game against the twins, i was in the upper deck, so much stuff was thrown at them and so much was said that security had to escort them away, it was a great day, plus we won the game

From a business standpoint, it makes sence. This give the team 40 more ticket sales on top of ticket sales which are virtually guaranteed. If you go ahead to buy the tickets, you will have no trouble getting 40 of us here to join you for the two other games.

That's not so great... in fact, that's embarrassing.

Yeah...that's nothing to brag about. Except the part about winning the game

The thing that I am most pissed about is I got the letter yesterday and I have to make a decision by Jan 12th and I have to come up with the 20% downpayment. I just talked to my ticket rep a couple of weeks ago to change the location of my season tickets and I asked when I would be getting info on my group outing and not one mention of this new policy. They could of given more warning so I can figure out if I can get enough people to the 2 other games. I know that people will buy them but I have to pay all this money myself upfront, thats what I am most concerned about.
