Let me tell you what jump started that season. Larussa moved Fisk to batting second in the order. It was unorthodox moving a big catcher there but it worked. Fisk was just one of many very smart players on that team. Greg Luzinski despite his size was a terrific baserunner. It was that kind of year: smart fundamental baseball. You couple that with lights out pitching in the second half and 99 wins is what you get. God I love that season!!!
