While it is New Year's Eve and a festival for all, it is also the same day in 1972 that one of the greatest players of all time, Roberto Clemente, was taken before his time in a plane crash on his way to Nicaragua to bring relief to earthquake victims. So, tonight, drink one for Roberto Clemente.

My all-time favorite baseball player. While I never got to see him play, I have done papers and research projects on him and his amazing life. He was an outstanding person first, and a great ballplayer second.

Oddly enough, there was an article on Roberto Clemente Jr. on espn.com...

talking about bringing supplies to the tsunami victims.

My fellow Puerto Rican and he is to me the best Puerto Rican baseball player ever.

I just wish I was able to see him play in person.

I've purchased only one bobble head that was not affiliated with the Whiteox...Roberto Clemente.

I just wish I was able to see him play in person. If we ever meet I'll tell you all about him. He really was spectacular, exciting, clutch, daring and a whole bunch of other superlatives.

I just wish I was able to see him play in person. One of the greatest pure baseball players ever. Saw him many times in person. Great defender, base runner, and team leader as well as offensive prowess. Family from Carolina. My families from San Lorenzo.

He really was spectacular, exciting, clutch, daring and a whole bunch of other superlatives. Yes all of these and then some. You must have seen him play in person. He made it look easy.

You forgot his arm. It was a howitzer.

My families from San Lorenzo.:smile:Absolutely one of the best ever. He was amazing. They don't make them like Roberto anymore. And like Torn mentioned, you forgot the laser guided cannon attached to his shoulder. http://www.flyingsock.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
