Mesa was off yesterday, as Sunday is a day of rest at the AFL after typical doubleheaders on Saturday.

They lost today 4-1 at home.

Matt Guerrier didn't pitch as well as previously, and took the loss. He didn't pitch bad without his best, allowing just an earned run, while giving up no hits. His control was off though, as he walked 4, while striking out 2 in 3 innings.

Borchard batted 5th again and was back in centerfield. He scored the lone Mesa run after being hit by a pitch, but failed to get on base his other 3 AB's.

Tim Hummel notched a hit in four tries, lowering his BA to .324 on thes season; he played SS and leadoff the game.

Sox catcher Miguel Olivo started behind the dish, and threw out 2 of the 3 runners that attempted to steal. He was also hitless at the plate.

Kyle Kane gave up his first run of the season, it was earned, in 2 innings of work. He allowed 2 hits, struck out a batter, and didn't walk anybody.
