i dont like garland for vaz...vaz and ishii...maybe then i'd trade garland. you watch,we get rid of garland & next year he breaks out and goes 16-9.But if we are helping big time to facilitate this deal, then i think we need to be fairly overcompensated.

I really don't think we're going to be involved in any Yankees-RJ deal. Plus, if we deal Garland for another starter, then we still have a hole at the 5th starter spot. If we want to stack the rotation 1-5 then we need to SIGN another starter and move Garland or Contreras into the 5th spot.

YES! That guy isn't lights-out by any means, but he definetely is solid as an end of rotation type guy. He would be good for 12-15 wins and an ERA around 3.7-4.0.

I would be shocked if Ishii could manage to post under a 6 ERA on the White Sox.

I would be shocked if Ishii could manage to post under a 6 ERA on the White Sox.I agree. I doubt Ishii will be in the starting rotation at the start of the season. The Yanks typically carry 6 starters (nice to have $200M to spend, huh?) and stash one in the bullpen for when someone inevitably goes on the DL.
