ok .... how is this guy's name pronounced? i was in the chicago area this past 2 weeks and heard it 2 ways.
viz sky ay no
and
viz cay no
since the 'a' comes before the 'i' i am leaning toward the latter.
anyone?

I think it is the first one but without the s sound after viz. i didn't know how else to phonetically make the sound without the 's'.
'ky' could be pronounced either 'kee' or 'ky'.
basically, the way i wrote it, the 's' i silent.

I made a sound recording of myself saying it how I would say it if I came across his name in a Spanish text. Don't know if this is correct, but its what I say now.
Bah, apparently we can't upload .mov files.

Viz - kai - ee - noh
That should clear it up.Nope. It's not pronounced "Viz". It's pronounced "Vis". Just like the word "hiss" sounds different than "hiz".

You're ALL wrong. It's pronounced beece-kai-EE-noh. The "v" in spanish is pronounced as a "b".
That is, if you want the true Spanish pronunciation, and not the gringo pronunciation.

That is, if you want the true Spanish pronunciation, and not the gringo pronunciation.I don't think that is right. I think it would be Bees-KI-no with the i and o long because the "ai" combination is a dipthong as in the verb "bailar" meaning to dance.
edit: If he has an accent mark over the "I" Erik the Red's spelling is correct.
