Sox and Mets in battle over.... Luis Garcia?

The White Sox are in battle with the Mets to sign minor-league free-agent 1B Luis Garcia, says the New York Post. Garcia hit .313 with 32 homers for the Dodgers Triple-A team in Las Vegas last season.
Hmmm just read this over at sportsline.com's rumor section.... Anyone hear anything about this guy, because this is news to me?

And if this is the case, what are the chances a Konerko trade is going down and the Sox are banking on throwing this rookie into the fray? Just a thought....
